The number of foreign tourists to visit Central Java is targeted to increase by 2.5 percent in 2009.
There were 317,222 foreign tourists in 2008.
Head of the Marketing Division at the Tourism Department at the Central Java Province Budiyanto explained the target in 2009 was larger than the target in 2008, which was only 1.2 percent.
“As regards domestic tourist, Central Java targets to increase the number by five percent. There were 16.5 million domestic tourists in 2008,” said Budiyanto yesterday (30/12).
The Tourism Department will carry out several improvements to increase the tourist number.
More promotions about Central Java as a safe place will also be carried out.
“So tourist will not be worried about visiting Central Java,” said Budi.
